Here at Journey To Cure we understand the stress and anxiety that couples feel when having difficulty conceiving.  We are here to assist in that difficult journey by listening to you and your needs and creating the optimal fertility plan individualized to your special health history.   We will thoroughly go through your health history and identify possible reasons for the fertility problem such as thyroid issues, nutritional status, fibroids, poly-cystic ovaries and stress.  Once an underlying issue is identified we can use natural therapies to help such that if conception is achieved, there usually is no side affects or negative impact on the embryo or fetus.  In addition the odds of conception are drastically improved.  We also can provide complementary acupuncture treatments to your conventional fertility treatments that are tailored to you to improve your pregnancy rate.  In recent years there have been many clinical studies indicating acupuncture works extremely well in conjunction with conventional treatments of fertility.

Clinical studies have shown the following:

• Luteal-phase acupuncture has a positive effect on the outcome of IVF/ICSI
• Acupuncture is safe for women undergoing embryo transfer (ET)
• Acupuncture is a useful tool in improving pregnancy rates after ART (assisted reproductive therapy)
• Acupuncture on the day of ET significantly improves the reproductive outcome in infertile women.

Case 1 – Infertility

30 year old female visited the clinic for infertility after six years of marriage.  She reported having  severe PMS.  Her menstrual blood was scant and thin.   She often reported feeling cold especially during her menses.

Treatment: Traditional chinese medical approach is used.  Warm the Ren meridian.  Nourish the blood and enhance the Qi while at the same time eliminating the blood and Qi stagnation.   She received 12 acupuncture treatments on a weekly basis and 5 herbal packages every week for 12 weeks.

Result: After one month of treatment, the PMS symptoms were significantly diminished. Three months after her first visit the client reported that she was pregnant.
